San Francisco Bay Valley

The land of the San Francisco Bay Valley ends in the sea in the magnificent San Francisco Beach, located north-east of city of Praia, - Santiago Island, just few minutes drive from the capital of the country and Praia International Airport. This integrated island in the archipelago of Cape Verde, has 991 km2, 75 km long and 35 km at its widest , about 300 thousand inhabitants (2010). Located on the leeward is the largest of the Cape Verde Islands. Located about 25 km from the Island of May and 50 km from the Island of Fogo, Santiago, of volcanic origin, has several mountainous areas, and Antonia peak, with 1392 meters high is the hightest point of the territory. The climate is more humid in the high lands and more arid areas in the intermediate zones. The island's economy is based agriculture, developed in valleys, as well as fishing.
